yes off course because we know the meaning of pain when we first time by watching others, try to stand on own legs and fell down and start crying loudly when we was kid.
we know the feels of pain because we suffer it many times since childhood.Any injury or by any kind of accident , we suffer the pain,know the meaning of hospitalization, know the value of time loss being in hospitalizes or recover it again.
If we go back and think, why we face all these this things than we get the answer somewhere we had the mistakes. Somewhere due to own carelessness of activities or our actions, we did mistakes and faces all these things.
So it means, somewhere our activity or actions was wrong. But Questions comes why it was wrong.
Than the answer is because of lack of knowledge, lack of Training. lack of Awareness and information.Due to all these reasons we was not in condition or was ready for it and wont able to control it to happened.
When we was kids, mom and dad always to take care of us. i remembered,At the time of crossing the road to go to school mom was holding my hand and watching vehicles here and there and than crossed the roads than time i heard the word :Accident or Incident from mouth of mom. she was competent person to control this. The word Safety Hygiene learn from mom that time, by cleaning Teeth at morning, washing hand after playing cricket and footballs, cutting nails and hairs when it was growing, understanding the meaning of Housekeeping, when she was cleaning the home.
All we knows but now we are grown and in this Competition and Running life and job or work load,we are so in Hurry and careless that many times we are by pass the safety & faces painful accident, personal injury, fatality even death & losses of property and Assets.

Prior to doing any activity, job or Task,we have to assess that Task carefully. Find out the the probable risk by identifying all the hazards of that task and control it by proper planning.than start the job activity.

In Industries or work site , it's duty of a employer or management to provide safe place of work, safe system of work, safety equipment and instrument and proper Training and information to their employees.Each countries has its own Industrial laws regards safety of there people's and workers when they working at work site.
Safety is a Team work. It is a duty and responsibility of each and every person to take care of safety of self and others while doing work activity at work site or when driving vehicles on Roads.
